Miss Touchard
My name is Brittney Touchard and this is my sixth year at Welch Elementary. I spent my first two years as a fifth grade teacher, and this is my fourth year teaching third grade. I am originally from Marrero, Louisiana, which is just outside of New Orleans. However, I've lived in Delaware most of my life. I have a k-9 kid, Payton, who is 4 years old. I am currently the Head Field Hockey Coach and Assistant Girls' Basketball Coach at Dover Air Force Base Middle School. In my free time, I enjoy playing with my dog, working out, gardening, and cheering on the Saints, Braves, and LSU!
Education
Upon graduating from Lake Forest High School, in Felton, DE, I attended Christopher Newport University, in Newport News, Virginia. While there, I earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication Studies with a minor in English Literature. After college, I decided to stay in Virginia and work as a Marketing Coordinator for State Farm Insurance. About a year later, I made the choice to pursue my true passion; education. Soon, I enrolled at Wilmington University and earned a Master's Degree in Elementary Education. I have my Elementary Education Certification for K-6 and my Special Education Certification for K-12. In the past, I have worked as a Special Education Teacher, and during the summer, I work with students with special needs at the John S. Charlton School.
